On a budget for time, money, or even both?

Hello, and welcome to today's budget friendly "things to do in the 303 when your almost broke."

I have found the perfect way to kill 2-1/2-3 hours, have a ton of fun and enjoy the outdoors. Harvard Gulch golf course is located at 660 Iliff ave, This 9 hole par 3 golf course is great for people on a time crunch that want to get in 9 holes before their meeting and great for the golfer who wants to play but can't afford the big courses all the time (it's only 8 bucks). This municipal course is tucked away among mature trees a walking trail, athletic fields, and a green belt. With no hole longer than 145yds club selection and overall risk factor are minimal. Tee times are taken but not always needed. Harvard Gulch is a true golfing gem for those who are not worried about prestige, it is just good golfing fun in a nice setting and by the way BYOB yep that's right if you carry it you can bring it (no glass bottles). After a quick nine shoot over to Mustard's Last Stand for a loaded Chicago Dog, Vienna all beef hot dogs, sport peppers, celery salt, tomatoes, electric green relish, mustard (of course)and sauerkraut. this restaurant is short on looks, but big on taste, and staying true to there craft, but how come I can't get a free refill on my soda c'mon fellas hook it up. Mustard's is located half a block north of Evans on University in the heart of the D.U campus ( GO PIONEERS). So there it is a way to kill a morning or an afternoon for under 20 bucks. Southern Creole Cooking a Mile High

Well it has been over a month since my last post, my bad yo. I have been to a place that we need to talk about. Lucile's at 275 S. Logan (a little north of Alameda on Logan) other locations include Boulder and Fort Collins. Lucile's brings a taste of southern creole cooking to the metro area. With a variety of creole inspired dishes that are sure to please the most deeply rooted southern gentleman and the prettiest southern belle. My breakfast favorites include the Eggs Jennifer which has an English muffin, spinach, tomato, avocado, and poached eggs covered in hollandaise, served with grits or potatoes, and a biscuit. The crowning jewel of the breakfast menu for me is the Pain Perdu, this southern version of french toast is to die for. The crusty bread is cut to a medium thickness dipped in a savory sweet egg mixture and cooked to a light golden brown, served with fresh fruit, one egg, and a Louisiana hot sausage link. There is no maple syrup on this table, the Pain Perdu is served with this sweet cinnamon buttery syrup that has a taste and a place in my heart all its own. Lucile's is always busy for breakfast on the weekends (no reservations) so expect a long wait, but do not let that sway your decision to enjoy Lucile's, for they have the best bloody mary's in town not to mention the Cuban OJ MMMMMM!

To another point it is summer here in the Mile High City take some time to gaze out at the mountains, watch the kids in the park, walk the 16th street mall, go to Water World, or watch the surprisingly competitive Rockies in an afternoon game in the middle of the week. The Denver area is home to some great parks, restaurants, shopping and activities take a minute to enjoy some of them. Talk to you soon.
